Laura debuts at Sydney Opera House

Pecan Summer is written and composed by opera singer Deborah Cheetham. Pecan Summer tells the story of Alice, a tearaway 11-year-old Aboriginal girl at Cummeragunja​ Mission in southern NSW, who laughs, plays and cheekily avoids being removed from her parents Ella and James by jumping in a river.” – Peter McCallum, SMH

Laura was honoured to make her debut as a principle artist at the Sydney Opera House as one of the few non-indigenous singers in the powerful opera that is Pecan Summer.  Among her co stars are: Deborah Cheetham, Wiradjuri soprano Shauntai Batzke, Jessica Hitchcock (The Rabbits), baritone John Wayne Parsons, Marcus Corowa (The Rabbits), Simon Lobelson, Eddie Muliaumaseali’i, & Michael Butchard. Pecan Summer also features some of Australia’s best loved established singers including Barry Ryan OAM, Rosamund Illing, & Jonathon Welch AM.
