Laura has recently returned to Sydney after living in Berlin. Whilst in Europe Laura was very fortunate to study with Maestro Sherman Low in Italy, her studies were funded by The Mietta Song Competition, The O’Donnell Prize.

Her most notable performances in recent times include guest artist with Hour Glass Ensemble at The Uzton Room, Sydney Opera House, pianist Rosie Riebl in their show Eternal Summer, which was a part of  Sydney Fringe Festival 2017, as a solo artist at Castlemaine State Festival, and Port Fairy Music Festival, and a guest artist at Australian Small Business Awards. Aside from her recital and operatic bookings Laura is a current member of the 7 Sopranos, and has travelled internationally performing at galas all round the globe.

In 2016 Laura won The Mietta Song Competition. As well as winning the Mietta prize, Laura won the O’Donnell family prize, and the Arnold and Mary Bram prize for best Australian song. The Mietta Song Competition was adjudicated by Dame Felicity Lott, Peter Coleman Wright AO, and Caroline Almonte . Her other notable performances this year include: Annina in La Traviata with Opera Projects Sydney, Eleonora in Prima la musica e poi le parole (Salieri) Bare Bones Opera, Dvořák’s Stabat Mater with Illawarra Choral Society. In September she made her Sydney Opera House debut as a principal artist in Pecan Summer with Short Black Opera. Also in 2016 Laura and her artistic partner, Christopher Curcuruto, started a joint venture in setting up their opera company, Bare Bones Opera. They lauched their company in August with a Mozart & Salieri Triple Bill.

For the 2nd time Laura was selected as a young artist with Pacific Opera in2015. As part of their Young Artist Program she performed the roles of The Rooster and The Woodpecker, and was the cover for the title role in Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen, conducted by Alexander Briger. Other Major performances included Mrs Nolan in Menotti’s The Medium with Opera Prometheus and The Messiah, Handel with Illawarra Choral Society, Wollongong Town Hall. A Highlight of the year was performing as a solo artist at the international gala of Turkey In Music at the Capitol Theatre Sydney. 2015 was The Year Of Turkey in Australia, and the gala was the opening event of a cross-cultural exchange between Turkey and Australia, to commemorate Gallipoli. Laura was a semi-finalist in the MacDonald Operatic Aria adjudicated by Rosamund Illing and John Boltan Wood, AM.
